أخلاق المسلم تتجلى في تعاملاته مع الغير ، و المسلم عضو نافع في مجتمعه ، و لا يسبب أذى أو ضرر لغيره ، سواء كان مسلماً أو ذمياً . و أول الأخلاق التي يجب أن يتمتع بها المسلم هو الصدق ، فالصدق منجاة و أول و أفضل الخلق ، و قد عرف عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم قبل الرسالة أنه لم يكذب قط ، و يقول صلى الله عليه و سلم في الحديث الذي رواه ابن مسعود رضي الله عنه : ( إن الصدق يهدي إلى البر ، و إن البر يهدي إلى الجنة ، و إن الرجل ليصدق حتى يكتب عند الله صديقاً ) . و ها هو عمر بن الخطاب رضي الله عنه يقول : عليك بالصدق و إن قتلك . فالصدق مأوى و ملاذ الضمير و النفس من اللوم و الشعور بالضيق ، و راحة أمام الله سبحانه و تعالى ، و من الصفات المحمودة في المء التي يذكرها الناس من فضائله . و المسلم شخص أمين غير خائن أو غير قادر على قول الحق ، و قد دعي رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم بالصادق الأمين . فالشخص الأمين القدر على حفظ أسرار و أموال و حرمات الغير ، لا يفضح العبد الذي ستره الله ، و لا يخون من إئتمنه و لو على شق تمرة ، و قادر على قول الحق في المواقف الصعبة ، هو شخص يتمتع بأهم الأخلاق التي إن اجتمعت في شخص جعلت له من الشيم و الفضائل ما يذكر حتى بعد موته .
