قال تعالى: حتى إذا جاء أحدهم الموت قال رب ارجعون لعلي أعمل صالحا فيما تركت كلا إنها كلمة هو قائلها ومن ورائهم برزخ إلى يوم يبعثون [المؤمنون:99-100].
إن الموت حق علينا جميعا ، وعلينا ان نقوم بجميع الأعمال الصالحة لنستعد لتلك اللحظة ، لحظة الموت ،إن الموت ليس مخيفا بالنسبة للمؤمن المتيقن بأنه اذا عمل صالحا في الدنيا فسيلقى صالحا في الآخرة وأن رحمة الله تعالى ستنزل عليه وإن أعماله ستنير عليه القبر يوم القيامة وتسهل عليه الإجابة على اسئلة الملكين وسينال يوم القيامة الثواب والأجر على ماعمل من الصالحات وسيكون اجره عظيما ودليل ذلك ان الله تعالى قال:- ﴠ وَعَدَ اللَّهُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا وَمَسَاكِنَ طَيِّبَةً فِي جَنَّاتِ عَدْنٍ وَرِضْوَانٌ مِنَ اللَّهِ أَكْبَرُ ذَلِكَ هُوَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ (72)﴾ ، أما الكافر الذي كذب دين الله تعالى وبما جاء به رسوله صاى الله عليه وسلم وأبا واستكبر ، وأصر على كفره فإن الله تعالى سيجازيه اشد الجزاء وسيكون قبره يوم موته ظلمة عليه ، يرتجف خوفا ويتوسل وسوف يفتح عليه بابين من النار وعندما يسأل عن دينه وعن ربه وعن ماعمل في الدنيا من صلاة والواجبات لن يعرف ماذا يقول ، قال الله تعالى:-( ﴠ وَلَا تُطِعْ مَنْ أَغْفَلْنَا قَلْبَهُ عَنْ ذِكْرِنَا وَاتَّبَعَ هَوَاهُ وَكَانَ أَمْرُهُ فُرُطاً (28)﴾. إن اول ليلة في القبر يكون قد وضع فيها الميت وحيدا لا ونيس له وكل أقاربه وأهله وأصدقائه غادروه وهجروه ويسمع صوت أقدامهم وهم يغادرون ويتركوه وينادي ولكن لا جدوى .
