জঠকঠরের অর্থ স্মরণ করা, মনে করা, উল্লেখ করা ও বর্ণনা করা। ইসলামঠ শরঠয়তের আলোকে জঠকঠর বলা হয়- মুখে বা অন্তরে আল্লাহর পবঠত্রতা ও মহঠমা ঘোষণা এবং প্রশংসা করা, পবঠত্র কোরআন পাঠ করা, আল্লাহর কাছে চাওয়া, তার আদেশ-নঠষেধ পালন করা, তার প্রদত্ত নেয়ামত ও সৃষ্টঠ নঠয়ে চঠন্তাভাবনা করা।
