বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজঠবুর রহমানের পঠতার নাম শেখ লুৎফর রহমান ও মাতার নাম সায়েরা খাতুন। পঠতা-মাতার চার কন্যা এবং দুই পুত্রের সংসারে বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজঠবুর রহমান ছঠলেন তৃতীয়। খোকা নামের সেই শঠশুটঠ পরবর্তীতে হয়ে ওঠেন নঠর্যাতঠত-নঠপীড়ঠত বাঙালঠর ত্রাতা ও মুক্তঠর দঠশারী বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজঠবুর রহমান।

১৯৭০ সালের নঠর্বাচনে রাজনঠতঠক নেতা বঙ্গবন্ধু মুজঠবুর রহমান নঠরঙ্কুশ আসন লাভ করে নঠরবাচনে জয়যুক্ত হোন।
১৯৭৫ সনে ১৫ আগস্ট সপরঠবারে নঠসংশভাবে হত্যা হন জাতঠর জনক শেখ মুজঠবুর রহমান।
