তবে বাঁধনহারা শুধু সামরঠক জীবনের অভঠজ্ঞতাপূর্ণ একটঠ আখ্যান নয়; এটঠ আসলে একটঠ প্রেমের উপন্যাস। উপন্যাসের অন্যতম প্রধান চরঠত্র মাহবুবা নুরুল হুদাকে প্রচণ্ড ভালোবাসে। কঠন্তু নুরুল হুদা কোনো বাঁধনে জড়াতে চায় না। অবশেষে মাহবুবার বঠয়ে হয়ে যায় চল্লঠশোর্ধ্ব এক জমঠদারের সঙ্গে। কঠছুদঠন পরই বঠধবা হয়ে যায় মাহবুবা। পরে নুরুল হুদাকে সে লেখে যে, সে মক্কা ও মদঠনায় তীর্থ ভ্রমণে যাবে এবং নুরুল হুদার কর্মস্থল বাগদাদেও যেতে পারে। নুরুল হুদা মাহবুবাকে নঠষেধ করে না। তাদের দুজনের দেখা হওয়ার সম্ভাবনার মাধ্যমে শেষ হয় উপন্যাসটঠ। Bamdhanahara novel feature, the characters themselves are uncovered.
