《三國記》是一款以三國時期為背景的回合製SLG遊戲，玩家可以任選一名君主，以統一全國為目標。遊戲中通過內攠、軍事、外交、計略等指令指揮屬下武將，增加金錢和兵力等資源，通過戰鬥來攻取其他勢力的城池，最終完成統一霸業。
本遊戲支持12個劇本。史實劇本有10個，從“覆蒼天黃巾當立”到“滅蜀漢二士爭功”，基本總括了整個三國的歷史。另外，還有“群雄集結”和“時空錯亂”2個幻想劇本。登場武將更是多大700名以上，可選性相當豐富，很多武將都有自己的專屬特技。
