有一夜，一隻小燕子飛到一個城市，那裏豎立著一座雕像。小燕子的朋友6個星期前都已經飛往埃及了，但他卻因愛上了美麗的蘆葦而留下來。他的朋友告訴他，他對蘆葦的愛真是荒謬，因為蘆葦沒有金錢，有太多關䠂，也經常和風誠情。
