Dari Abul Qosim at-Tafakur, aku mendengar Abu Ali al-Hasan bin 'Ali bin Bundar al-Zanjani bercerita bahwa Kholifah Harun ar-Rosyid رحمه الله mengutus seseorang kepada Imam Malik bin Anas رحمه الله agar beliau berkenan datang ke istana supaya dua anak Harun ar-Rosyid yaitu Amin dan Makmun bisa belajar agama langsung kepada Imam Malik. Imam Malik menolak permintaan Kholifah Harun ar-Rosyid dan mengatakan, "Ilmu agama itu didatangi bukan mendatangi."
Coba lihat saja kelakuan sebagian kita terhadap orang yang beda pemahaman, padahal masih dalam tataran ijtihadiyah. Yang terlihat adalah watak keras, tak mau mengalah, sampai menganggap pendapat hanya boleh satu saja tidak boleh berbilang. Ujung-ujungnya punya menyesatkan, menghizbikan dan mengatakan sesat seseorang.
Padahal para ulama sudah mengingatkan untuk tidak meninggalkan mempelajari masalah adab dan akhlak.
Namun barangkali kita lupa?
Barangkali kita terlalu ingin cepat-cepat bisa kuasai ilmu yang lebih tinggi?
Atau niatan dalam belajar yang sudah berbeda, hanya untuk mendebat orang lain?
