This application is a timer/stopwatch that can run in the background on your phone. It will continue to run even after you close the application. You can go ahead and run other applications or have no applications running at all and it will continue to tick in the background. If you stop the timer at a certain point before exiting the application, it will remember where you left off, and your place will be saved upon return.
