KH. Hamim Tohari Djazuli atau akrab dengan panggilan Gus Miek lahir pada 17 Agustus 1940,beliau adalah putra KH. Jazuli Utsman (seorang ulama sufi dan ahli tarikat pendiri pon-pes Al Falah mojo Kediri), Gus Miek salah-satu tokoh Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) dan pejuang Islam yang masyhur di tanah Jawa dan memiliki ikatan darah kuat dengan berbagai tokoh Islam ternama, khususnya di Jawa Timur. Maka wajar, jika Gus Miek dikatakan pejuang agama yang tangguh dan memiliki kemampuan yang terkadang sulit dijangkau akal. Selain menjadi pejuang Islam yang gigih, dan pengikut hukum agama yang setia dan patuh, Gus Miek memiliki spritualitas atau derajat kerohanian yang memperkaya sikap, taat, dan patuh terhadap Tuhan. Namun, Gus Miek tidak melupakan kepentingan manusia atau intraksi sosial (hablum minallah wa hablum minannas). Hal itu dilakukan karena Gus Miek mempunyai hubungan dan pergaulan yang erat dengan (alm) KH. Hamid Pasuruan, dan KH. Achmad Siddiq, serta melalui keterikatannya pada ritual ”dzikrul ghafilin” (pengingat mereka yang lupa). Gerakan-gerakan spritual Gus Miek inilah, telah menjadi budaya di kalangan Nahdliyin (sebutan untuk warga NU), seperti melakukan ziarah ke makam-makam para wali yang ada di Jawa maupun di luar Jawa. Hal terpenting lain untuk diketahui juga bahwa amalan Gus Miek sangatlah sederhana dalam praktiknya. Juga sangat sederhana dalam menjanjikan apa yang hendak didapat oleh para pengamalnya, yakni berkumpul dengan para wali dan orang-orang saleh, baik di dunia maupun akhirat.
