Características
Mede cerca de 11,5 cm de comprimento.
O macho apresenta uma crista preta contrastando com os lados da cabeça brancos,
as partes superiores cinzas, asas e cauda pretas, e a garganta e o centro do peito pretos,
em contraste com a barriga canela e a fêmea é amarronzada e sem o preto na garganta e no peito.
Hábitos
Varia de incomum a localmente comum em campos cerrados com árvores e arbustos esparsos.
