Pengobatan ala Nabi biasa dikenal dengan sebutan Thibun Nabawi sekitar abad ke-13 yang diperkenalkan oleh Syekh Ibnu Qoyyim Al Jauziah didalam kitabnya Zaadul Maad. Thibbun nabawi mengacu terhadap semua perkataan, pengajaran, dan tindakan Rasul yang berkaitan dengan pengobatan atau penyembuhan suatu penyakit. Termasuk tindakan medis yang dilakukan sahabat atau orang pada zaman Rasul. Pengobatan Ala Nabi dapat diyakini dan bersifat pasti (qath’i) karena berasal dari wahyu dan misykat Nubuwwah, bernuansa illahiah, alamiah, dan ilmiah yang berasal dari kesempurnaan akal melalui proses berfikir (aqliyah).Seorang mukmin senantiasa mengingat rahmat Allah Azza Wa Jalla, tidak putus asa menggapai kemurahan Tuhannya Subhanahu wa ta'ala untuk mendapatkan kesembuhan dan terkabul doanya meskipun selang beberapa waktu. Di sisi lain, hendaknya dia juga memperhatikan sekitarnya bencana yang dialami manusia, di antara mereka ada yang fakir, tidak mendapatkan sesuap nasi, ada yang sakit mematikan dan merasakan sakit setiap saat, ada yang terlunta-lunta, tertawan dan disiksa, ada yang dicoba dengan keluarga dan anaknya, ada yang takut di negaranya, dan berbagai berbagai macam cobaan tiada berakhir. Barangsiapa yang memperhatikan hal itu, maka tidak dapat lari dari kesabaran.
