Locate, track, and control connected vehicles through secure API access and embedded telematics; no hardware is needed.
Wouldn’t it be nice to monitor your vehicle remotely? The carKenny app allows fleet and safety managers to know the location and status of their fleet remotely.
Eligible cars are equipped with a 3G, 4G, or 5G cellular modem right from the factory. Internet connectivity in cars enables the communication between vehicles and apps like carKenny.
Embedded telematics is used to describe telematics technology found in automotive vehicles. Vehicle data like GPS location, odometer readings, or battery levels are uploaded to a vehicle manufacturer’s cloud through the built-in cellular modem.
Here is how it works:
• Download your vehicle brand’s application from your mobile device’s app store and create an account (if you do not already have an account).
• Visit www.carkenny.com/app to set up an account and follow the carKenny in-app instructions to link your car using the account information from above.
• Once you can see data from your car in the carKenny application (vehicle on the map, odometer, fuel, battery life etc), you are all connected
The carKenny app securely connects to connected vehicles through Smartcar’s API platform.
• Smartcar is GDPR and SOC 2 Type 2 compliant. Their car APIs are encrypted with bank-grade SSL/TLS 1.2 and compliant with OAuth2 authorization protocol.
