Tentang sosok Das’ad Latif, ketua Ikatan Muda Da’i Profesional Sulsel masih hangat dalam ingatan. Diungkapkan, tahun 1993 lalu setamat dari jenjang SMA, bersama sejumlah rekannya mendaftar masuk AKABRI atau Akademi Angkatan Bersenjata Republik Indonesia untuk Angkatan Udara. Pendaftarannya saat itu di markas Ajudan Jenderal Kodam (Ajendam) VII Wirabuana di jl Garuda, Makassar.
