Welcome to Chupacabras - a fun strategy game for all ages named after the legendary animal said to inhabit certain parts of the United States, the Caribbean and Central America. Chupacabras are often blamed for attacks on poultry and other domestic animals. However, this game does not feature any attacks and it promotes various mental skills.
This app also includes a 3-level sliding puzzle and a memory game.
Chupacabra Game:
Select Chupacabras from the main menu and click Play. Now choose a Level for the game by picking a number from 1 to 16. The game board will materialize with the Level and Moves numbers at the upper right. If you change your mind and would like another level, you can click the Back button to the upper left. The Refresh button, to the right of the Back button, resets the Level you are in.
A typical level will include a chupacabra, sheep and obstacles. Obstacles can be hay cubes or wooden boxes. A chupacabra can move a hay cube but not a wooden box and must walk around it. Its goal is to get the sheep and must do this in the number of moves indicated which is the minimum number possible. How these moves can be carried out is not always obvious which is why this is a strategy game requiring similar mental skills as chess. Higher levels may include stationary or moving guard dogs which are fatal obstacles.
To win a level, you must get all the sheep in the number of allowable moves which, as mentioned earlier, is the minimum possible number of moves. You lose when exceed the moves or when you fall on a guard dog. One of the most fun and challenging chupacabra games out there.
Sliding Puzzle:
This game puzzle for kids and adults has 3 levels: Easy, Hard and Impossible where the starting image is split into 3X3, 7X7 or 15X15 square tiles, respectively. The starting image is of a giant alien cartoon creature chasing a human with a butterfly net. Clicking Randomize will shuffle the tiles into a random arrangement but leave an empty space where a tile can moved into. Your task is to move the tiles in strategic ways and to piece together the original image.
Memory Game:
The memory game employs 18 unique icons of cartoon aliens which appear in one or more pairs on the game board. When you click Start they all flip over. The only way to flip them facing up again, which is the goal of this alien game, is by tapping on matched pairs. The more you remember from before you clicked Start, the faster you can finish this game as fewer random clicks will be required. It is a great way to improve your short term memory while having fun.
