O termo impressionismo surgiu devido a um dos primeiros quadros de Monet, "Impressão, nascer do sol", quando de uma crítica feita ao quadro pelo pintor e escritor Louis Leroy: "Impressão, nascer do Sol” - eu bem o sabia!
