Enjoy this easy to read and understand Bible: Contemporary English Bible (CEV), an excellent translation in contemporary English.
This version of the Holy Word was published in 1995 and it is a simplified version designed for uneducated adults or people who are not familiar with traditional biblical vocabulary.
The project was planned and organized by the biblical scholar Barclay Newman and his assistants. The purpose was to create a Bible with words widely used in every day speech.
