Dalam ‘Kitab Mujarabat’ dinyatakan bahawa doa Akasyah ini pada asalnya dibawa oleh Malaikat Jibril a.s. dari arasy. Sayyidina Abu Bakar A-Siddiq r.a telah berkata;
“Pada suatu hari aku sedang duduk di hadapan Rasulullah SAW di dalam Masjid Madinah AL Munawwarah, tiba-tiba datang Malaikat Jibril a.s. dengan membawa Doa Akasyah lalu diberikan kepada Rasulullah SAW sambil berkata,
“Wahai Rasulullah! Sesungguhnya apa yang aku bawa ini, Doa Akasyah yang sejak dari Nabi Adam a.s. dan nabi-nabi lain belum pernah diberi kecuali kepada Dikau.”
Kata Malaikat Jibril lagi, “Sesungguhnya aku melihat Doa Akasyah ini tergantung di bawah Arasy selama 90,000 tahun sebelum Allah menciptakan dunia dan segala isinya.”.”
