I recently checked this app and found a couple of reviews by disappointed users. I didn't know that anybody was using it directly :) - I thought all current users were through our partners who were using it for research studies.
As the description below states, this is an open source app is built by students and researchers at UC Berkeley. I am currently working on some improvements to the analysis pipeline and have turned it off for the main server until that is done. I have to balance this work with other academic goals such as writing my thesis and supporting my research partners as they run their own studies on their own servers, so it has been slow going. The tracking still works (the diary tab), it is just that the trips always stay in draft mode.
If you care about this, please send me an email ([email protected]) to motivate me to work on the base server :)

E-Mission is an app that allows you to track your travel modes and your travel carbon footprint, and compare them against our other users.
This app has been developed by students from the Computer Science and Transportation Engineering departments at UC Berkeley and is used by studies conducted by transportation researchers, focusing primarily on sustainable transportation.
This is an open source project with issue tracking on GitHub. If you encounter an issue, please check https://github.com/e-mission/e-mission-docs/issues to see if it has already been reported.
