There are very few eclipses and they are not always visible from where you are on the globe.
An eclipse happens when the orbit of the moon lands exacly between the sun and our planet, or when our planet lands in the middle, in front of the sun, casting a shadow over the moon. That is called a lunar eclipse.
When a sun eclipse is happening, there is a point, if it is a full eclipse, when everything goes black, in the middle of the day. It usually does not last for long, but seing everything black during daytime is an awesome thing.
You should not look directly at the sun during an eclipse, because after the full eclipse, when everything is black, the first glimmers of light will damage your eye.
This amazingly simple app has a black background with black buttons and the awesome event in the highlight wheel.
