Club Sport Emelec mayormente conocido como Emelec, es un club deportivo ecuatoriano procedente de la ciudad de Guayaquil, creado en 1925 y fundado en derecho el 28 de abril de 1929 por el estadounidense George Capwell.
Su disciplina deportiva principal es el fútbol, actualmente milita en la Serie A de Ecuador como local en el Estadio George Capwell. Posee su propio equipo filial en la Segunda Categoría de Ecuador llamado Rocafuerte Fútbol Club.
Ha sido campeón del Campeonato Ecuatoriano de Fútbol en trece ocasiones: 1957, 1961, 1965 (campeón invicto), 1972, 1979, 1988, 1993, 1994, 2001, 2002, 2013, 2014 y 2015. Es el único equipo ecuatoriano que ha sido campeón en todas las décadas en las que se han disputado campeonatos nacionales. Es el segundo equipo en lograr un tricampeonato en el Campeonato Ecuatoriano, y el primer equipo de Guayaquil en obtenerlo.

Club Sport Emelec best known as Emelec, Ecuadorian sports club is from the city of Guayaquil, created in 1925 and founded in law on 28 April 1929 by the American George Capwell.
Its main sport is football, currently plays in Serie home of Ecuador in the George Capwell Stadium. Subsidiary has its own team in the Second Category of Ecuador called Rocafuerte Football Club.
Has been champion of the Ecuadorian Football Championship on thirteen occasions: 1957, 1961, 1965 (undefeated), 1972, 1979, 1988, 1993, 1994, 2001, 2002, 2013, 2014 and 2015.
