This app is designed for Samsung Gear Fit 2 and Gear Fit 2 Pro.
How to install?
1. First install Samsung Gear application if you didn't yet.
2. Pair Samsung Gear with your Gear watch via Bluetooth.
3. Open Samsung Gear manager, go Settings -> About Gear and tick option Unknown Sources.
4. Now install the app from this site.
A compass is an instrument used for navigation and orientation in the terrain that shows direction referring to the geographic North.
Due to missing magnetic sensor in Gear watches this app uses location parameters from built-in GPS to calculate a position relative to the North. To get correct position you must walk otherwise the app will show wrong or last known position.
The app contains views:
- compass
- speedometer
- coarse location on the globe
Use swipe gestures left/right or buttons to navigate among views.
Click distance counter to change between kilometres, miles and knots.
Troubleshooting:
1. No compass input right after launching this app. No panic. Your Gear watch needs 1-3 minutes to get so called GPS fix before you see anything. After this time it works continuously until you lost GPS signal like entering a building or staying under a big tree.
2. Compass still doesn't work. Probably your are in a building and GPS signal is too low. Go outdoor and it will work again after 1-3 minutes.
3. Installed the app from Google Play and can't see Compass on my Gear watch. Make sure
Bluetooth connection is active for your phone and Gear.
4. Still no compass on my watch and Bluetooth for phone and watch is on. Apps for your watch are installed by Samsung Gear manager. Make sure you have installed Samsung Gear on your Android phone.
