This app is in no way associated with the constructor of the wristband.
Use your Mi Band as accesorry for a true turn-by-turn GPS navigation. Eyes-free, hands-free and no voice. Just by vibrations in the wrist.
Start a GPS navigation with Google Maps on your smartphone. You may put your handheld device in your pocket, handbag or backpack.
Useful on a bike or motorcycle. Even driving car, when voice is not an option using vibrations to get your attention instead. Useful as pedestrian too when the sun make it difficult to watch any
screen.
You are guided with vibrations in your wristband as following :
- turn right : vibe,
- turn left : 3 vibes.
Attention : in some case your accessory vibrates one time more than requested. Please still consider 2 vibes as right and 4 as left. In all cases telling right from left is easy.
Compatibility
Now also compatible with the new model including hear rate monitor.
Beta
This app is just out. Price is -50% for the 100 first installs (reached soon). Issues and refund requests wellcomed.
Set up
First be sure to have your wristband fully configured with your smartphone, using for instance the official app Fit.
After installation open once the app and you will be guided to grant the notification access. See screenshots.
In case of Mi Band connection issue. You can configure directly the Mi Band Bluetooth address. Look at the screenshots for how to to get the address of your wristband.
Usage
After setup you don't need to use the UI any longer. You just open directly Maps and start a turn-by-turn navigation. You'll receive the vibrations in the wrist.
Left-hand traffic
In left-hand traffic countries, the right vs left pattern are reversed to match corresponding roundabouts logic.
Permissions. This app requires the following permissions:
- Bluetooth : to communicate with your wristband,
- GPS location: to capture the speed so as to better compute the right moment to send vibration command,
Test and refund
You'll need to go around outdoor to test this app. Not easy within the 15 min refund button is active.
