GRUP D’ESTUDI ESCLEROSI MÚLTIPLE
Societat Catalana de Neurologia
La Societat Catalana de Neurologia (SCN) és una entitat centenària de caràcter mèdic i científic, sense ànim de lucre, que entre altres es va subespecialitzar en l’Esclerosi Múltiple mitjançant la
constitució d’un grup de treball, GEEM (Grup d’Estudi d’Esclerosi Múltiple de la Societat Catalana de Neurologia).
La finalitat principal és mantenir les Guies Oficials de Diagnòstic i Tractament de l’Esclerosi Múltiple de l’SCN actualitzades, col·laborar en l’organització dels Cursos Anuals de Formació
Continuada d’Esclerosi Múltiple, fomentar el reconeixement de la subespecialitzat d’Esclerosi Múltiple en l’especialitat mèdica de la neurologia i la formació continuada d’aquesta, a més d’ésser
l’òrgan cohesionador dels membres de l’SCN que estiguin interessats en formar-hi part.
Les Guies clíniques tenen com a objectiu ajudar al metge a atendre al pacient, especialment en situacions de dubte. Les seves recomanacions garanteixen que el tractament dels pacients sigui millor,
independentment del lloc on exerceix el metge.
S’analitzen el concepte d’Esclerosi Múltiple, la seva clínica, els mitjans de diagnòstic i el seu tractament.
Els autors de les guies han estat neuròlegs experts en aquesta àrea.
