Ha Tinh is a province of Vietnam, located in the North Central region. Previously, Ha Tinh with Nghe An was a region with the same name of Hoan Chau (Northern domination), Nghe An (Ly, Tran), Nghe (in 1490, King Le Thanh Tong) Nghe An town. In 1831, King Minh Mang divided Nghe An into two provinces: Nghe An (north of Lam river) and Ha Tinh (south of Lam river).
In 1976, Ha Tinh merged with Nghe An, named Nghe Tinh. In 1991, the Vietnamese National Assembly term VIII issued a resolution dividing Nghe Tinh province, re-establishing Nghe An province and Ha Tinh province
Ha Tinh stretches from 17 ° 54 'to 18 ° 37' north latitude and from 106 ° 30 'to 105 ° 07' east. It borders Nghe An province to the North, Quang Binh to the South, Borikhamxay and Khammuane provinces to the West, East Sea to the East.
