It is our pleasure to welcome you to the page of the Health Social Work MSc program of the Faculty of Health (University of Debrecen) in Nyíregyháza, Hungary. The page is primarily addressed to You, our prospective student and future colleague, but it is an important reference point for all the citizens of the university. Our aim is to introduce this special master degree program, which is unique not only in Hungary but also in Europe.
The program offers special training which provides unique interdisciplinary and integrated knowledge for students, for whom the gates to institutions of disabled people, elderly people, rehabilitation and other areas of the whole health care system will open.
The English Health Social Work master program was accredited in 2015 by the Hungarian Accreditation Committee guaranteeing the highest quality of our master program.

Healthcare social work is a specialty within the social work field. A healthcare social worker is someone who helps people access services and education related to health problems. Their goal is to have the client achieve and maintain a state of optimal health so that they can function in their daily lives. The social worker acts as a client advocate, educator, advisor, coordinator of care, and strives to preserve the healthcare and dignity of the population they serve.
