Hearts Match is a high quality, light-weight Android app that lets you match blocks, each having 9 differently colored cards. It promotes color matching, strategic thinking and solving speed, so in addition to being fun and engaging it can also be a beneficial app for whomever plays it. Please note, this is not a hearts card game similar to Black Lady, Dark Lady, Chase the Lady, Crubs, Rickety Kate or Queen of Spades.
To begin a round of Hearts Match, click Start on the first screen.
This will bring into view the puzzle area which is a square formed of 8 rows by 8 columns of square blocks. There are 12 unique square blocks, each made unique by the heart pattern on it. The heart pattern consists of 9 hearts, each having a different color. All blocks are paired up within the square and your goal is to cancel all the blocks within the time frame of the given round.
The cancellation of blocks can take place according to certain rules. You can only cancel identical blocks that are adjacent, or sharing a common side, or that are separated by space from other cancelled blocks. You cannot cancel dissimilar blocks, diagonal blocks or blocks that are separated by other blocks. The good news is that the more blocks you cancel, the easier it becomes to cancel more blocks. If you can't cancel matched blocks by tapping, use the Refresh button to shuffle the blocks into a new pattern. If you are close to losing a game, use the Find button to cancel remotely spaced matched blocks that you could not have cancelled by tapping. This is a great feature when you are running out of time. The rounds are timed. The initial round has a duration of 120 seconds and as rounds progress they become 10 seconds shorter.
