Alam ini disebut pula alam barzakh yang artinya perantara antara alam dunia dengan alam akhirat, sebagaimana firman Allah Azza wa Jalla yang artinya, “Apabila kematian datang kepada seseorang dari mereka, ia berkata, “Ya Rabbku kembalikanlah aku (ke dunia) agar aku berbuat amal yang saleh terhadap yang telah aku tinggalkan.
