Quraisy melarangnya, terutama paman-pamannya. Lantas dia bertanya
bagaimana saya harus melaksanakan nazar saya? Akhirnya disarankan untuk
dibawa ke Arafah, lalu diundi lagi.
Jika diundi yang keluar nama Abdullah, maka Abdul Mutthalib akan
bersedekah dengan 10 ekor onta sebagai ganti anaknya dan begitu
seterusnya, dan jika yang keluar nama onta, maka dia akan berhenti dan
onta sebanyak itu akan disembelih. Sampai sepuluh kali undian, nama yang
keluar adalah Abdullah. Itu berarti sudah 100 onta yang harus dipotong.
