Nabi juga mengatakan bahwa ada 3 ciri cinta sejati:
1. lebih suka berbicara / berbincang dengan yang dicintainya
2. lebih suka berkumpul / dekat dengan yang dicintainya
3. lebih suka mengikuti kemauan / memberi yang diinginkan oleh yang dicintainya
“Siapa yang mencintai seseorang karena Allah, kemudian seseorang yang dicintainya itu berkata,
“Aku juga mencintaimu karena Allah.” Maka keduanya akan masuk surga. Orang yang lebih besar rasa cintanya akan lebih tinggi derajatnya daripada yang lainnya. Dan ia akan digabungkan dengan orang-orang yang mencintai karena Allah.” (HR. Al-Bazaar dan Sanad Hasan)
