Plug-in for Locale (which is not free) to detect whether the power source is USB or other (AC/car charger/dock). Can't distinguish between non-USB sources, but you can use other plugins to detect docks.
Needs Android 2.2+ & Locale which isn't free.
Apparently fails on Motorola Droid but I don't have one to test.
How to install Locale Power Source Plugin APK for Android [menu]
Download Locale Power Source Plugin APK file (name.boyle.chris.powersource_4_51604.apk) from SameAPK.com, then follow these steps:
Update Phone Settings
- Go to your phone Settings page
- Tap Security or Applications (varies with device)
- Check the Unknown Sources box
- Confirm with OK
Go to Downloads
- Open Downloads on your device by going to My Files or Files
