Burung Merpati (bahasa Inggeris: Domestic Pigeon). Nama sainsnya ialah Columba domestica. Burung Merpati merupakan burung yang paling dikenali dari keluarga Columbidae yang merangkumi sekitar 310 spesies.
Merpati adalah burung yang berbadan gempal dengan leher pendek, dan halus, paruh langsing dengan cere pangkal paruh berisi. Mereka makan biji benih, buah-buahan dan tumbuh-tumbuhan.
