The band started playing in 1998 as part of the Avanzada Regia musical movement and is currently composed of Eduardo Davalos de Luna, also known as MC Babo (lead vocals), Rowan Rabia (beatmaker) and DJ Agustín (only in live shows).[1] They have been referred to as one of the most notable Mexican hip-hop artists.

Cartel de Santa es una banda mexicana de rap creada en Santa Catarina, Nuevo León. La banda comenzó sus actividades en 1996 y está compuesta por el vocalista principal, también conocido como MC Babo; y Román Rodríguez, más conocido como "Rowan Rabia", Monoplug o simplemente Mono. Actualmente se encuentran organizado un proyecto llamado " viejo marihuano" siendo este el volumen 7, se rumora que en este volumen "MC Marioek" tendrá una participación importante tanto en los vídeos como en las composiciones.
