The Nevarest application is the official scoring system for Nevarest Challenges. A nevarest Challenge is an endurance multi-spots event based loosely on Adventure Racing where competitors try and navigate to and collect as many Optional Points (OP) as possible in an allocated time. OPs are each allocated a value and the score of the participant is the sum of the values of the OPs collected. The winner of the Nevarest Challenge is the participant who achieves the highest score on completing the event. If tho participants have the same score the winner is the participant who completed the event in the shortest time. Penalties are applied for running over the permitted time.
Friends can watch the progress of participants realtime via the Nevarest application or web site. This includes a live leader board for the event. In addition, the application will make regular posts to the participant's Facebook page informing friends of their progress.
The Nevarest Application also provides tracking for other endurance sporting events. Events are not created by the participant but selected from a list of available events. Initially a limited list of events will be available in Gauteng, South Africa but this list will be expanded over time.
