Nick Rivera Caminero mejor conocido como Nicky Jam nacido él 17 de marzo de 1981 en Boston, es un cantante de reggaetón conocido por éxitos como yo no soy tu marido, me voy pal party, guayando, buscarte, fiel a tu piel, va pasando el tiempo, la combi completa, entre otros.
Origen de su nombre artístico
Nicky Jam es hijo de padre Puerto Riqueño, y Madre dominicana. Cuando tenía 10 años se mudo a Cataño Puerto Rico.
Este cantante ha utilizado desde el principio de su carrera el nombre de Nicky Jam para darse a conocer en la industria discográfica. Este nombre se lo puso un deambulante de la calle en forma de
broma y así la gente siguió llamándolo.
Aunque al principio a él no le gusto mucho, poco después se dio cuenta que el nombre le era útil, ya que mas y mas gente lo reconocían llamándolo así.
Nicky Jam viene de una familia de muy bajos recursos y trabajaba en un supermercado como empacador para ayudar a sus padres con el sostenimiento del hogar. Este trabajo era ilegal, ya que Nicky
era menor de edad. El gerente para ayudarlo lo dejaba trabajar por tiempo y lo sacaba cada dos horas.
Era en este lapso de tiempo donde Nicky en su descanso forzado improvisaba y rapiaba al frente del supermercado para cambiar su rutina diaria. En una de esas ocasiones una señora de una disquera lo
descubrió y le propuso firmarlo para un disco. Su papá accedio a firmar el contrato y de ahí es como a sus once años nace su primer disco distinto a los demás.
Como apenas era un niño y no tenía la suficiente experiencia ni trayectoria, este disco no dio los resultados esperados, sin embargo ayudo a darle reconocimiento a su talento en tan corta edad,
llamando así la atención de los productores de discos callejeros como dj Joe, dj Playero, dj Chiklin entre otros.
Aquí Nicky Tuvo más de diez éxitos callejeros y surgió la oportunidad de conocer a Daddy Yankee que era su ídolo en esto de los discos callejeros y quien le ofreció ser su corista en un concierto en la república dominicana en donde no solo nació una gran química laboral sino también personal, dando como resultado un gran dúo, sin dejar de lado que seguían siendo artistas individuales y como tal hacían música individual. Más adelante por razones personales cada artista decidió seguir su camino en la música individualmente.
Nicky Jam tuvo gran popularidad al poner a la venta en el 2001 el álbum haciendo escante, producido con la disquera la Mesa Record y Pina Record.
Nicky Jam es uno de los cantantes de reggaetón más interesantes y con mayor prestigio dentro del panorama musical latino que existe en la actualidad.
A la vez, pese a su juventud, todos los que conocen bien el género admiten que ha conseguido mantenerse en el anonimato lo suficiente como para que de su vida no se conozca mucho más que algunos pequeños detalles personales, sus trabajos discográficos y sus amigos habituales, ya que frecuenta a menudo la compañía de otros compañeros suyos, todos ellos músicos latinos.

Nicky Jam is Puerto Rican son father and Dominican mother. When he was 10 he moved to Puerto Rico Cataño.

Later for personal reasons each artist decided to follow his path in music individually.
Nicky Jam was very popular to be sold in 2001 by Escante album, produced with the label Pina's Record and Record Bureau.
