Oxóssi (Òsóòsi) é o deus caçador, senhor da floresta e de todos os seres que nela habitam, orixá da fartura e da riqueza. Actualmente, o culto a Oxóssi está praticamente esquecido em África, mas é bastante difundido no Brasil, em cuba e em outras partes da América onde a cultura iorubá prevaleceu.
Isso deve-se ao facto de a cidade de Kêtu, da qual era rei, ter sido destruída quase por completo em meados do século XVIII, e os seus habitantes, muitos consagrados a Oxossi, terem sido vendidos como escravos no Brasil e nas Antilhas. Esse facto possibilitou o renascimento de Kêtu, não como estado, mas como importante nação religiosa do Candomblé.
