Foi fundada em 21 de março de 1983. A rádio nasceu graças ao empenho de empresários urubicienses José Carlos Broering, Célio Francisco Sgrott, Ângelo João Heinzein, Manoel Corrêa Neto e Antonio Zilli - que tinham o sonho de implantar uma rádio no município. O desejo deles encontrou apoio no empresário da comunicação e diretor do Sistema Catarinense de Comunicações - SCC, Roberto Rogério do Amaral, que teve participação decisiva nesta conquista do município de Urubici.
