Rapunzel is the classic story for children, professionally narrated to give you 100% as-in-book experience. It is a part of our mobile storytelling app Tales with GiGi, in which you can find more than 40 children stories with morals, for kids who like fairy tales, fables and parables. Originally is a German fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm. The tale is mostly known for the line “Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair”.
A story about the most beautiful girl with the longest golden hair, trapped in a tower by an old witch as a punishment to her parents. When she visits her, she stands beneath the tower and calls out: Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair, so that I may climb the golden stair. Upon hearing these words, Rapunzel would wrap her long, fair hair around a hook beside the window, dropping it down till the ground, and the witch would then climb up it to Rapunzel's tower room.
One day a passing by prince hears the beautiful voice of Rapunzel and becomes curious of the person singing. He returns often to hear the enchanting voice and catch a glance of the girl’s beauty but every time fails to find a way to get into the tower.
Until one day, he sees the witch standing under Rapunzel’s window and climbing the golden stair. He waits behind the trees for the witch to leave and bids Rapunzel to let her hair down again. When he gets to her he asks her to marry him and promise her he would help her escape. But unfortunately, the witch finds out…
