리멤브럴은 GPS 시스템을 기반으로 운영됩니다. 거주지를 등록해 놓은 후 해당 거주지에서 벗어날 경우 외출에 가지고 나가는 물건 리스트를 작성하라는 알림을 띄워주며 사용자는 자주 가지고 나가는 물건 순으로 정렬된 아이콘들 중 현재 외출 시에 가지고 나갈 물건을 선택하여 가지고 나가는 물건 리스트를 손쉽게 생성시킬 수 있습니다. 이후 한 곳에 일정시간 머물러 있다가 이동하는 것이 감지 될 때와 교통수단에서 하차하기 전에 알림 혹은 진동과 함께 해당 리스트를 띄워주며 사용자로 하여금 물건을 두고 가는 일이 없도록 도와줍니다.
또한 리멤브럴은 유실물을 방지하는 것 렐만 아니라 분실한 물건을 찾는 것 역시 도와줍니다. 사용자가 물건을 잃어버렸다는 사실을 알게 되었을 때 분실물 추적 기능을 사용하면 그날 하루 동안의 이동 경로와 오래 머물렀던 장소, 가장 마지막으로 물건을 확인한 장소를 기록하여 보여줍니다. 사용자는 이를 보며 자신이 왔던 길을 역추적 해 가며 물건을 찾아 갈 수 있습니다.
