Die App ResearchAlumniKIT zeigt Beiträge der KIT-Webseite. Dazu gehören aktuelle News, Veranstaltungen und Jobangebote. Sie gibt den Benutzerinnen und Benutzern die Möglichkeit, sich auf Wunsch Mitteilungen über neue Angebote schicken zu lassen. Sie zeigt die Standorte Nord und Süd des Karlsruher Instituts für Technologie (KIT) an und ermöglicht eine Suche nach Gebäuden oder Hörsälen, außerdem kann der User oder die Userin nach Instituten oder Dienstleistungseinheiten suchen. Und das von seinem Standort aus, den die App bestimmen kann.
Entwickelt hat die App eine Studierendengruppe in der Veranstaltung „Praxis der Softwareentwicklung“ des Bachelorstudiengangs Informatik im Wintersemester 2014/15.
Auftraggeber des Projekts ist das International Scholars & Welcome Office (IScO) am KIT.
