The Root Chakra influences your vitality, survival instincts, “fight or flight” response, and the emotions of anger, jealousy, desire and greed. The Muladhara or Root Chakra governs the lessons of surviving the material world. This Chakra holds information involving family loyalty, superstitions and beliefs, and your ability to stand up for yourself; your sense of safety, self esteem, and security are believed to be based here. Imbalance in the Muladhara may manifest as losing interest in the “real world”, restlessness, volatile emotions and a lack of vitality.
It's believed the most effective way to release the frustrating problems caused by energy blockages in the Root Chakra is through sound; sound is a very direct, vibrational energy, as well as through color therapy and positive self affirmations.
