Scan Files Directories runs the Media Scanner on your device to re-scan the external storage (sd card) for music, videos,pictures and all media file and document file. It fixes problems where applications such as media file or document file are unable to find files transferred to the device via adb, for example.
This is very simple and very useful for some users app. Its purpose is to rescan your SD card with one click, without remove it or go into settings.
