This fun app lets you use your smartphone or tablet to measure your latitude and longitude, just like using a Sextant like sailors of old.
The app displays a simple compass over the camera view to allow you to locate and measure the position of the North Star and sun. The app also incorporates Google Map and Google Sky Map to show you where you measured your position at, and help you locate the North Star to measure latitude with.
Simple, easy, and fun - it is a great way to teach others how sailors of old measured their position on the planet, and the benefits of having GPS in our lives today.
Locate the North Star or Sun, hold your device straight away from your body, and target the celestial body. Click the smartphone's camera button or touch your screen to capture latitude or longitude. Easy!
