Sinopsis :
Drama India Mahabharata menceritakan tentang kisah kerajaan Hastinapura yang diperintahkan oleh keluarga kuru. Pandawa dan Kurawa merupakan bersaudara akan tetapi bersaing untuk mendapatkan tahta. Walaupun ayah Karawa lebih tua daripada ayahnya pandawa namun Duryadana sebagai Kurawa tertua lebih muda usianya ketimbang Yudhistira sebagai Pandawa tertua, Keduanya saling mengklaim diri mereka sendiri sebagai pewaris terdepan tahta Hastinapura.
Selama Upacara Penobatan, Adik Dhritrashtra Pandu diangkat menjadi raja dengan pengaruh tinggi dari Vidura (adik laki-laki lain Dhritrashtra). Shakuni merasa bahwa dia ditipu dan karenanya dia bersumpah pada dirinya sendiri bahwa dia akan menghancurkan ras Kuru. Dia menabur benih pertempuran klimaks selama masa remaja para Kurawa dan Pandawa dengan meracuni pikiran Duryodhan terhadap para pandawa.
