Ada lagi yang mengusulkan supaya dibunyikan lonceng seperti yang biasa dilakukan oleh orang Nasrani. Ada seorang sahabat yang menyarankan bahwa manakala waktu salat tiba, maka segera dinyalakan api pada tempat yang tinggi di mana orang-orang bisa dengan mudah melihat ke tempat itu, atau setidaknya, asapnya bisa dilihat orang walaupun berada di tempat yang jauh. Yang melihat api itu, hendaklah datang menghadiri salat berjamaah.
