இந்த உலகத்தல் காதலப்பது சுலபம் ஆனால் காதலக்க வைப்பது சற்று கடனம். எனனும், வைரமுத்து என்ற அந்த ஒரு நபருக்கு மட்டும் காதலக்க வைப்பதும் கூட சுலபம் தான். கவயரசு வைரமுத்துவை பொருத்தவரையல் அவரது எழுத்துக்களை காதலக்காத வாசகர்களே இல்லை. இவர் எழுதும் கவதையோ, கதையோ சாமான்யமான மனதனைக் கூட கவஞனாக்கும் தன்மை கொண்டது.
அந்த வகையல் 'தண்ணீர் தேசம்' என்னும் இக்கதையை உண்மையல் வைரமுத்துவன் கவதை என்று சொல்வதா? இல்லை கதை என்று சொல்வதா? எனக்குத் தெரயவல்லை! ஒருவேளை வேண்டும் என்றால், இப்படச் சொல்லவட்டுப் போகலாம் அதாவது இது கவதை நடையல் எழுதப்பட்ட கதை என்று. வைரமுத்துவன் கை வண்ணத்தல் இதனைப் படக்கும் போது அன்னாரன் கடலைப் பற்றய அறவயல் பார்வையும் காதல் பார்வையும் கலந்த வரகள் அனைத்தும் வாசகர்களன் நெஞ்சங்களை பல முறை கொள்ளை கொள்ளும் என்பது மட்டும் உறுத. இந்தத் தண்ணீர் தேசத்துக்குள் நுழைந்து வைரமுத்துவன் கவதைப் படகல் ஒரு நான்கு மணநேரம் மதந்து பன்னர் கரை சேருமாறு வாசகர்களை வேண்டுகறேன். அவசயம் அனைவரும் இதனைப் பதவறக்கம் செய்யுங்கள். வாழ்த்துக்கள்.
