Tarekat Qadiriyyah merupakan sebuah tarekat yang dinisbahkan kepada Shaykh Muhyi al-Din Abu Muhammad `Abd al-Qadir ibn Abi Salih Zangi Dost al-Jilani yang dilahirkan di Jilan pada tahun 470 H. (1077 M.) dan meningal dunia di Baghdad pada tahun 561 H. (1166 M.).[1] Tarekat Naqshabandiyyah pula merupakan sebuah tarekat yang dinisbahkan kepada Shaykh Bahā’ al-Dīn, Muhammad ibn Muhammad ibn Muhammad al-Sharīf al-Husaynial-Hasanī al-Uwaysī al- Bukhārī[2] yang dilahirkan di Bukhara, Turkestan, Asia Tengah pada tahun 717 H. (1317 M.) dan meninggal dunia pada tahun 791 H. (1388 M.) di Qasr `Ārifān, sebuah kampung di daerah tersebut.
Tarekat Qadiriyyah wa Naqshabandiyyah merupakan sebuah tarekat yang masyhur dan mempunyai ramai pengikut di Nusantara, khususnya di Kepulauan Jawa. Di Malaysia, tarekat ini juga merupakan antara tarekat yang sudah terkenal dan mempunyai ramai pengikut selain daripada tarekat Ahmadiyyah dan Naqshabandiyyah Khalidiyyah. Kertas kerja ini akan menjelaskan beberapa perkara tentang tarekat Qadiriyyah wa Naqshabandiyyah menyentuh pengenalan, sejarah pembentukan, perkembangan, silsilah, amalan asas dan juga tujuan pengamalan tarekat ini. Tarekat Qadiriyyah is a congregation Muhyi attributed to Shaykh al-Din Abu Muhammad 'Abd al-Qadir ibn Abi Salih al-Jilani Dost Zangi who was born in Jilan in the year 470 AH (1077 AD) and the world died in Baghdad in 561 H.
