Since childhood, I’ve been fortunate to travel the world and work with people from all over the world, and because English is the world’s ‘lingua franca,’ I’ve also been fortunate to have English as my communication tool. English has enabled me to communicate with people all over the world, and it has helped open up many opportunities in my life and career. Even when I first came to Japan and couldn’t speak, understand, read or write any Japanese, English got me through. But learning English can become overwhelming and it’s easy to lose motivation and confidence when improvement is slow. I had zero Japanese ability in the beginning, and it took me a long time to improve and gain confidence, so I know how it can feel! So let me be your guide and partner in your journey as an English Upgrader.
