È la più antica squadra del Veneto, fondata ufficialmente il 9 marzo 1902 da un gruppo di vicentini guidati dall'allora preside del Liceo Lioy, Tito Buy, e dal professore di educazione fisica dello stesso liceo, Antonio Libero Scarpa.
