An innovative app that helps the user to be alert and safe during walking in urban environment. Ideal for children who walk in urban environment. Also very suitable for pedestrians who care about their own traffic safety.
Have you ever seen people staring at their smartphones while crossing a road? Trusting that everybody else notice and dodge them. It is important to teach children that you don’t use your smartphone while you are walking among traffic. But, do children really obey all the advice when parents are not watching?
Walk Safely prevents the user from walking and using smartphone’s screen at the same time. The app detects if the user is walking or running and shows a warning screen that blocks the normal view. The phone’s other functions or ongoing calls are not disturbed. Warning screen can be removed by pressing the hide sign or by stopping walking. The warning screen returns if the user continues walking.

Features
- Parents can improve traffic safety of children with smartphones.
- Warning screen that prevents from viewing the display and walking at the same time, e.g. prevents texting and walking.
- Besides display view, the app does not disturb other functions or ongoing calls.
- Operates as a background service. Not visible unless the user tries to use phone while walking or running.
- When activated, the service is automatically started after start-up or reboot.
- The service shutdown can be prevented by password. Parents can therefore ensure that app is always active.
- If needed, inappropriate uninstalling can be prevented with separate applock or parental control application. Such apps are not included to Walk Safely app.
- Does not require GPS, location services or mobile data.
